Welcome to the latest showcase for my writing practice. Having studied Performance Writing to MA level, I hope to pursue this line of enquiry further this year to Phd level.

I am currently producing a series of shows around the topic of 'voice'. These will also be displayed on SoundArt Radio more details to follow...



 From September 2011- May 2012 I co-presented a radio show on Wednesday mornings with Jenny Wellwood on SoundArt Radio 102.5fm. Archives of some of those shows can be found here:

March

Toured in capacity of show producer for Kustom Kundst Kommandos to Buzzcut Festival Glasgow


April

Began R and D on Re:Mapping, an Arts Council funded programme providing art and performance workshops for dementia and mental health patients in Bristol of 3 years.


2014



January

Commissioned to create a soundscape for artist Liz Council at The Brewery Theatre on the project 'I Tattooed My Baby'

Continued my work with Drastic Productions creating a workshop around textual development

February

Co created work exploring the theme of love for the Tragic Valentines Ball at Totnes Civic Hall


May/June

Collaborated with Liz Clarke to co-write meta-text narrative and produce soundscape for 'Cannonballista' R and D piece shown at the Arnolfini on July 3rd


August

Bank holiday weekend take Cannonballista on tour to Stoke on Trent festival as Acting Producer/coordinator

September

Commissioned to create willow puppet scenery for a production at Shipphay School

Commissioned to teach Gifted and Talented children literacy ideas at Shipphay School Torquay

25th The graphic novel produced by Drastic Productions is published by Tangent and Jonathan Cape is launched at the Arnolfini Bristol

2013

January

Set up a new audio production company Echo Network Productions CIC with four other radio production associates in order to enable arts projects within the community.

February

Prepare the ground for the first Echo Network project in conjunction with the Totnes Museum exploring the idea of aural storytelling and attachment to artefacts within the museum.

April

Led a two and half hour workshop/lecture on Graphic Novels for Drastic Productions as part of a project for vulnerable women to create alter egos within their own generative graphic novel. This is the first of five such workshops each of which develop the textually of the proposed novel.

May

Began a new radio project Radio Radio which aims to bring community radio stations together in a shared space on the airwaves for the purposes of generating new content/ideas and artistic explorations.

October

I began a Phd at Plymouth University in spoken word that will focus on asking radio audiences to respond in an active way to discussions on the voice. Activating the audience and exploring the artistic potential of this medium as a method of looking at voice from a new perspective.

Led the second of five two and half hour workshop/lecture on Graphic Novels for Drastic Productions as part of a project for vulnerable women to create alter egos within their own generative graphic novel. The five proposed workshops aim to develop the textuality of the proposed finished piece.


November

Echo Networks were asked to provide consultancy input to a research project for the AHRC on Digital Writing. We will be partnering with Random House, Soundart Radio and Radia network in order to create broadcasts that will generate a creative output at the endpoint of consumption across the globe.




2012

January

Reworks radio show from Town Crier To Bigger Society. This show has its own dedicated blog http://thebiggersocietyradio.blogspot.com/ . As its name suggests this show is concerned with social engagement issues and merges our concerns with writing/listening with discussions around pertinent social issues on a weekly basis. Everything from local start ups through to the Occupy movement and the current move to change reproductive laws are looked at her; our aim is to be as inclusive as possible and to engage with our audience to make creative experiments such as the philosophical experiments we read live, to live drawing with the listeners can be found among our archived shows. Performance Writing weekend invited works in Arnolfini Bristol two works featured; an intervention staged with a sound piece and a live durational experience created on the Plinth of assemblage (4 and half hours) in collaboration with artist Joe Abel.
